# Terms of Service

## 1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using TorahTone (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
## 2. Description of Service
TorahTone provides daily curated inspirational quotes, synchronized voice audio readings, ambient soundscapes, local Shabbat candle-lighting time reminders, and notification services.
## 3. Subscriptions, In-App Purchases & Billing
TorahTone offers optional Premium subscriptions providing access to unlimited quote archives, extended ambient soundscapes, and advanced reminder preferences:
- **Billing Platform:** All subscription transactions, payments, and renewals are handled securely through **Google Play Store Billing** in accordance with Google Play's terms.
- **Auto-Renewal:** Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual) at the listed rate unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current subscription period expires.
- **Subscription Management:** You can manage, modify, or cancel your subscription at any time directly in your Android device settings under **Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions**.
- **Price Changes:** Any price modifications will be communicated in advance via Google Play in accordance with Google Play Billing policies.

**Notice:** Canceling a subscription turns off automatic renewal for future cycles. You will retain full Premium access through the remainder of the current paid billing cycle.
## 4. Free Tier & Advertisements
Free-tier users may be shown non-intrusive banner or interstitial advertisements served through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Premium subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience.
## 5. Intellectual Property Rights
All application code, visual designs, typography, audio recordings, soundtracks, and compilation rights are the exclusive intellectual property of TorahTone and its licensors. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for non-commercial personal enrichment.
## 6. Open-Source Attribution
TorahTone incorporates open-source software components, including:
- **SunCalc:** Copyright © Vladimir Agafonkin, used for client-side solar position calculations (licensed under BSD 2-Clause / CC BY-SA 4.0).
## 7. User Conduct & Prohibitions
You agree not to:
- Decompile, reverse-engineer, extract, or redistribute the App's source code, audio assets, or database files without express permission.
- Interfere with, compromise the security of, or disrupt the servers, backend APIs, or Firebase infrastructure supporting TorahTone.
- Use the App in any manner that violates local, national, or international regulations.
## 8. Disclaimer of Warranties
TorahTone is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we strive for accuracy in Shabbat candle-lighting sunset calculations, local astronomical calculations are provided for informational and reminder purposes. Users should consult their local rabbinical authority or halachic calendar for official halachic times.
## 9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TorahTone, its developers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.
## 10. Account Deletion & Termination
You may terminate your account at any time via the in-app settings or via our Web Account Deletion Portal. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App for violations of these Terms.
## 11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of your jurisdiction, without giving effect to any conflict of law principles.
