# Terms and Conditions
Export Chat Reader (package `com.exportchatreader.app`) · Effective September 1, 2026
> By installing or using Export Chat Reader, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
## 1. Service
Export Chat Reader is an Android utility that imports, parses, searches, and displays chat archives selected by the user. Core chat processing occurs locally. The free version is supported by advertising. Optional recurring Premium subscriptions remove ads while active.
## 2. Eligibility and responsibility
You must be legally capable of accepting these terms. You are responsible for your device, your use of the app, and the content you import. You represent that you own the content or have the necessary rights and permissions. Do not use the app to violate privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, export-control, or other applicable laws.
## 3. License
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Export Chat Reader for personal, lawful purposes. You may not reverse engineer, resell, distribute a modified copy, interfere with security controls, misuse the app or services, or infringe another person's rights, except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise.
## 4. Your content
You retain ownership of imported content. These terms do not grant us ownership. The app does not upload imported chats to the developer. If you choose an external action, such as sharing an attachment or opening a location link, the selected third-party app or service may receive the data you direct to it.
## 5. Advertising
The free version may display Google-served advertisements. Advertising requires network access and may involve the data processing described in the Privacy Policy. Ad availability, content, and frequency may change. Premium access suppresses Export Chat Reader's ad requests while the subscription remains active.
## 6. Premium subscriptions
Monthly and yearly Premium plans are sold through Google Play. The localized price, billing period, taxes, trial or introductory terms, and renewal details shown by Google Play at checkout control the transaction. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before renewal. Manage or cancel a subscription in the Google Play Subscription Center. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period and does not itself create a refund. See the Refund Policy.
Premium entitlement depends on Google Play confirming an active purchase. If confirmation fails, is revoked, expires, or is refunded, Premium access may end. Clearing local app data may require using Restore Purchases.
## 7. Availability and compatibility
Archive formats vary by platform, language, version, and export settings. We do not promise perfect parsing, uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every file, preservation of metadata, or permanent availability of any feature. Keep independent copies of important archives; Export Chat Reader is a viewer, not a backup service.
## 8. Updates and termination
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and Google Play requirements. You may stop using the app at any time. We may restrict access for misuse or violation of these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
## 9. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free parsing. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer guarantees or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
## 10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
## 11. Governing terms
Applicable law and mandatory consumer protections govern these terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
## 12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date and communicate material changes where required. Questions may be sent to support@cibru.in.
## 13. Third-party marks
Export Chat Reader is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp and related marks belong to their respective owners.
