Privacy Policy - Focus Timer - - - - # Privacy Policy Last updated: August 13, 2026 Welcome to **Focus Timer**. Your privacy is fundamental to our product development. This Privacy Policy explains how Focus Timer handles information, our strict on-device data processing practices, and your privacy rights when using our mobile application. > **Core Commitment:** Focus Timer does not collect, sell, or transmit any personal identification information (such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical location) to developer servers. All core timer calculations and app usage limits execute 100% locally on your device. ## 1. Information We Do Not Collect Directly We do not operate backend servers that harvest or store your personal identity. Specifically: - **No User Account:** You can access all app features without creating an account or logging in. - **No Contact Information Stored:** We do not ask for or collect your email address, phone number, or address. - **No Location Tracking:** We do not request or track precise GPS location data. ## 2. Device Permissions & Local On-Device Processing To provide accurate timers, background alerts, and digital wellbeing controls (App Limits & Screen Blur), Focus Timer requests certain Android permissions. Local Data Storage & Preferences Focus Timer utilizes sandboxed local storage (Android Jetpack DataStore) on your device to persist: - Your customized timer and stopwatch presets. - Your theme preferences (Light / Dark mode and color palettes). - Your user-defined App Limit thresholds and blur intensity settings. - Your premium subscription entitlement cache (synced with Google Play). This data is stored in your device's private application storage. Timer settings and theme settings may be included in Android cloud backup or device-to-device transfer when those Android features are enabled. The cached premium entitlement is excluded from backup. Google controls the security, retention, and deletion of Android backups under your Google account settings. ## 4. Third-Party Services & Advertising Focus Timer integrates reputable third-party SDKs to facilitate advertising and secure payments: ### A. Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) For users using the free version of Focus Timer, the app displays banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads via Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect and process certain technical data to serve relevant ads, prevent ad fraud, and analyze ad delivery performance: - **Identifiers:** Advertising identifiers and app/device identifiers, subject to your device settings and Google's SDK behavior. - **Network, App Activity & Diagnostics:** IP address, device and operating-system information, ad interactions, and diagnostic data. Google may use this data for advertising, ad measurement, fraud prevention, security, and diagnostics, and may share data with advertising partners as described in its notices. To learn more, review the Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, and Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure. **Your choices:** You can manage or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Where an advertising consent message is presented, you can use its controls to accept, reject, or manage the available choices. Controls and menu names vary by device and region. ### B. Google Play Billing We offer optional Premium subscriptions to remove all advertisements and support development. In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled securely through **Google Play In-App Billing**. All payment credentials (such as credit card numbers, billing addresses, and bank details) are processed directly by Google. The developer never receives, stores, or has access to your sensitive financial data. We only receive purchase confirmation tokens and subscription status from Google Play. ## 5. Data Retention & User Deletion Rights Because all user configurations and timer records are stored locally on your device, you have complete control over data retention and erasure at all times: - **In-App Deletion:** You can delete any individual timer preset or app limit rule within the app interface. - **Device Storage Clear:** You can instantly wipe all local data by going to *Settings > Apps > Focus Timer > Storage > Clear Data / Clear Storage*. - **Uninstalling the App:** Uninstalling Focus Timer deletes its local preferences and configuration files from that device. Android backups, if enabled, are managed separately through your Google account and device backup settings. ## 6. Children's Privacy Focus Timer complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR Article 8). Focus Timer is intended for general audiences aged 13 and older (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children. ## 7. International Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA) Depending on your geographic location, you may have specific privacy rights under applicable data protection legislation: - **European Union / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR):** You have the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal data held, and object to automated ad personalization. Since we do not maintain user databases, managing ad consent and local device storage provides immediate exercise of these rights. - **California Residents (CCPA / CPRA):** We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising providers may process or disclose identifiers and activity data for cross-context behavioral advertising, which can be considered "sharing" under California law. You can use the advertising privacy choices described above and contact us about applicable requests. ## 8. Security Safeguards We prioritize the security of your device. Focus Timer uses Android application sandboxing to isolate stored preferences, enforces strict HTTPS protocols for any external links, and implements URL validation to safeguard WebViews against malicious redirection. ## 9. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our features or regulatory requirements.
